Josh Thomson Art

I am a painter living and working in Glasgow, Scotland. My art aims to document my life, mainly by portraying the people around me or people whom I find interesting, with a focus on those living in Glasgow. The act of making a portrait is, for me, an attempt to get to know the sitter a little more, to dig a bit deeper, and hopefully learn something new about either one of us by the end of the process.

I began to learn how to paint during my spare time whilst studying Physics at Heriot-Watt University. My work is in private collections in the UK, USA, Europe and New Zealand.
